Stars of the Morning

DSC05425John 3:19 This is the condemnation that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness

Isaiah 45:3  And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and the hidden riches of secret places

I have been up since 3:30 this morning unwillingly forced to listen to the drunken reveling of men who love darkness.  The early, pre-dawn sky was clear and the stars shone brightly like glistening little gems scattered on dark velvet.  As I talked to my dear Lord, I asked him to give us some treasures of darkness; some little fragments rescued from the filth and refuse life.  It just breaks my heart in the DSC05383evening, as dusk and darkness begin to fall over the town, to watch the children who flock to the all-night entertainment bar.  There is no age restriction, not even for the purchase of alcohol; some of the young girls there to sell themselves.  Men love darkness and they will take their children, their future, with them.  Lord, please help us to search out those treasures, those hidden riches; show us their secret places that we might gather them as jewels, precious jewels, bright gems for your crown; like the stars of the morning I watched in the darkness, that they may shine in your beauty.
